The Allergy & Free From Show is back this weekend at the London Olympia.
This will be my second show after attending the Liverpool edition last year. I’ve heard the London show is even bigger and better so I can’t wait to get stuck in!
In the meantime check out my five top tips to make the most of your visit.
1, Get there early!
The old proverb says the early bird catches the worm. In this case the early bird gets first dibs on all the gluten free food!
At the Liverpool show I got there for doors opening at 10am and it was so much quieter than when leaving at around 2pm.
By arriving early you’ll be able to scout out all of the stands with less of a crowd and pick out the ones you want to spend more time (and money) at.
2, Bring some luggage
Whether you intend to or not it’s inevitable that you’ll be leaving the show armed with bags and bags of goodies.
From copious amounts of freebies to the fifteen packets of biscuits you’ve bought on special offer, you’ll need some way of transporting them home.
For Liverpool I had the car with me which was ideal as I literally filled the boot up with my loot. This time I’ll be using the train so I’m thinking I’ll need to take some form of hold-all!
3, Talk to the brands
The show offers a unique chance to meet staff (and often the owners) of all your favourite free from brands and some you’ve never heard of.
I had some fascinating conversations at the Liverpool show learning more about the brands and their products.
The smaller companies especially will really value your time and the opportunity to tell you their story.
4, Don’t eat breakfast
Seriously. I’m not usually one to advocate skipping breakfast but you’ll definitely want to save room for all the show goodies.
Last year the Schär stand was serving free waffles which was my first port of call and basically every stand will have free samples.
You’ll spend a large portion of the day stuffing your face so make sure you don’t peak too soon and miss out!
5, Take advantage of the special offers
The vast majority of stands will be running special offers for the show. Last year for example Genius had 3 for £5 across their whole range.
It’s the perfect opportunity to stock up on some of your favourites, and to try lots of new products.
Be mindful as well that some popular brands may sell out quickly so if you see something you want to try, go for it!
And there you have it! My five top tips for attending the Allergy & Free From Show. I hope you all enjoy your visit, and save some freebies for me!
